Special 4-H fair project awards announced

Over 800 non-livestock projects were on display at the Washington County Fair July 16-21.

These projects ranged from food and nutrition to child development to woodworking to garden ideas.

They were evaluated July 15 through conference judging with judges from around the state who have been trained through the Iowa 4-H program.

Several County Project Awards were given this year. These awards are supported by trophy donors who have an interest or business in that particular project area. They were on display all week with the non-livestock displays in Dallmeyer Hall at the county fair.

Special Award Winners Include: Most Educational Ag & Natural Resources-Maggie Rinner, Most Environmentally Friendly- Brittany Pfeifer, Outstanding Home Improvement-Zoe Fisher, Outstanding Textiles-Amanda Pfeifer, Best Use of Design-Amanda Pfeifer, Overall Conservation Award-David Hora, Most Educational Science & Engineering-Eli Van Roekel, Best Restored Tractor or Farm Implement- Caedon Harbison, Outstanding Woodworking-Zane Fisher, Outstanding Personal Development-Ellie & Sophie Bell, Outstanding Food & Nutrition-Amanda Pfeifer, Outstanding Child Development-Katie Palmer.
