On Sunday, Sept. 10, St. James Parish in Washington will have its annual Fall Festival at KC Hall.

“It is always held the weekend after Labor Day,” St. James School Principal Beth McBride said. “It starts with a dinner at the KC Hall. There are children’s games and a country store.”

The meal and games for kids begin at 11 a.m. The children’s games will be held in the St. James School playground.

The country store also opens at 11 a.m. with baked goods and craft items available to purchase, Brown said. It will remain open until 1 p.m.

The auction will begin at noon.

“The auction goes all day and often into the evening,” McBride said. “The items that are auctioned off are donated and the proceeds go to the school.”

A very popular item available for auction again this year is split wood.

McBride also showed a fingerprint painting done by St. James students last year.

It include the fingerprints from all the students in the school.

McBride said the event isn’t just for St. James members and that the entire community is invited to the event.

A lot of members from the church, school, and community have put time into making the fall festival a continuing success and they have volunteered on the committee.

“It is just a huge parish event and it supports the school,” McBride said. “Everybody kind of pitches in and does whatever they can where their talents lie.”
