The Supervisors received an update on the Washington County Recycling Center at the meeting Tuesday morning.

Lynn Whaley, operator of the recycling center for the county, comes to a supervisors meeting once a month to update the supervisors about how things are going.

Whaley told the supervisors the landfill numbers increased 14.61 tons in October. Recycables went down 24.12 tons, but he said a little bit of it can be carried over from month to month.

Appliances were down by five, electronics were down 12, tires were up by one and oil was down 31.

“You can see my year-to-date from previous year, we were down on our tonnage at landfill from 80.62, to 172.50 a year ago,” Whaley said.

Whaley didn’t have any new items he wanted to speak with the supervisors about and said everything was going well at the recycling center.

The supervisors also acknowledged a donation of $100 from Bob Kennedy to the K-9 fund and approved a personnel change request for the Washington County Conservation department.

At 11 a.m., the supervisors canvassed the results from the Nov. 7 city elections.
