T.T.T. Society considers new members

CRAWFORDSVILLE—The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held Monday, June 25, 2018, at the Olds United Church of Christ.

President Barb Shelman called the meeting to order and opened with the group singing the Sword of Gold.

No meditations were provided as the camp girl’s shared their experiences from camp. Randy White, a member of the Henry County Conservation Board, was in attendance listening to their report and a donation was made by the board to help send the girls to camp.

Twelve members answered roll call with “ a place of interest I’ve seen.”

Minutes of the previous two months’ meetings were read and approved as amended.

There was no correspondence.

The treasurer’s report was given by Misty Fear and will be filed for audit.

Committee Reports:

Camp-Destiny Boone and Kaylee Harris were in attendance to share their experiences at camp. Marlys and Glenda picked the girls up when they arrived back and delivered them home.

Gifts and charity Nothing to report

Ways and Means:

Monday, June 9 the Chapter will bus tables at the Pizza Ranch and six volunteers per shift are needed for two shifts, 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Chapter A is selling T.T.T. pins as a fundraiser. The pins and a sign-up sheet were passed around if people wished to order.

Old business: None

News business: Missy mentioned July is a slow month and suggested members make cards for next year’s camp girls. Everyone was urged to bring card-making supplies to July’s meeting.

Bills: None

Proposal of names for new memembership: Marlys proposed two names. The votes were favorable and an initiation ceremony will be held in September.

Adjournment:

President Shelman thanked Karolyn and Missy for refreshments. Sharon Beattie and Jen Slagel will be hostess for the next meeting, Monday, July 23 at the Olds United Church of Christ. Sharon will provide meditations.

As there was no further business the meeting adjourned with the closing creed and the Founder’s Day ceremony was performed.

Crawfordsville resident, Miss Junior Rodeo Iowa, Zoey Dennler, daughter of Darren and Karen Dennler has made several appearances in the past month.

In early June she participated in the parade at Keota Fun Days in Keota.

Two weeks later, Zoey traveled to Edgewood where she met up with Miss Rodeo Iowa, Jenna Kool and Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa, Kaylee Tremel for the PRCA Rodeo event. Edgewood welcomed these ladies taking them on tours of businesses as well as visiting the local day care, Care Center and Assisted Living Facility.

The trio met the man who started the rodeo 30 years prior.

They enjoyed spending time with the local children at a variety of games and events. They rode on the Edgewood fire truck during the parade.The Rodeo Queens were on hand at the PRCA rodeo all three nights.

Next Zoey assisted the Jefferson County Fair Board by helping out at the 4-H show at the Jefferson County Fair at Fairfield.

Zoey enjoyed participating in the 4th of July parade at Wayland and also her hometown parade at Crawfordsville Fun Days. She will be looking forward to more events during July.
