Mitchell Hora of the Jackson Jets 4-H Club and Logan Moeller of the Franklin Cubs 4-H Club have been awarded the national "I Dare You Leadership Award" in recognition of personal integrity, balanced living and potential for leadership. The honor was presented at the 4-H Award Family Fun Night held Nov. 3 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Both 4-H'ers are nine-year members to 4-H and have excelled in many project areas. Moeller is currently serving on the 4-H County Council. Hora is serving on the 4-H ELITE Project Team. They have given much leadership to the Washington County 4-H program.

The award is presented each year by the American Youth Foundation (AYF) in cooperation with principals, counselors, county 4-H agents, church groups and other organizations across the country. The award was first offered in 1941 by the late William H. Danforth, founder of the Ralston Purina Company in St. Louis, who challenged young people to achieve their highest potential and to influence others through lives of service.

In addition to a certificate of recognition, Moeller and Hora received a copy of Danforth’s inspirational book "I Dare You!"
