WACO rallies past IMS

WAYLAND — WACO rallied past IMS for a 44-36 win on Tuesday night in Wayland.

Junior Kristin Davis made three 3-pointers and sophomore Hannah Miller added two more triples as IMS (1-5, 1-4 SEISC North) went 5-for-5 from beyond the 3-point arc in the first quarter to take an 18-11 lead after one quarter of play. But the Warriors (2-3, 2-3 SEISC North) outscored IMS 15-5 in the second quarter to take a 26-23 lead at halftime. WACO maintained its lead in the second half.

Sophomore Aaliyah Brown scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Warriors, and junior Jaelyn Unternahrer added 11 points. Sophomore Erika Leichty chipped in eight points.

Junior Olivia Yutzy scored 15 points to lead IMS, and Davis added nine points. Miller chipped in six points, as did sophomore Riley Schmieder, who also had five rebounds and four assists.
