Washington archers part of worlds competition

Photo by: File photo James Zabel was one of seven archers to represent Washington at the 3D Worlds NASP Tournament in Orlando, Florida, July 21 and 22. He scored 260 points, finishing in 154th place.

A total of seven archers from the Washington Archery Program attended the 3D Worlds NASP Tournament in Orlando, Florida, July 21-22.

As a team, they scored 1,637, points finishing in 21st place out of 35 teams.

Individually, Samantha Mellinger scored 285 points. She came in 10th place out of 154 high school girls.

She finished in third place for ninth-grade girls and was 20th out of 543 girls overall.

Bryan Martin scored 280 points. He finished in 24th place out of 263 middle school boys.

He came in 11th out of 88 eighth-grade boys, and was 85th overall out of 636 boys taking part.

Cooper Reed also scored 280 points in the event. He finished in 26th place in the middle school competition. He came in 13th overall out of eighth-grade boys and was 90th overall.

Maggie Morgan scored 267 points, coming in 71st place out of 154 high schools girls.

Kylee Porter scored 264 points, to take 83rd place in the high school girls division.

In the high school boys division, James Zabel scored 260 points to finish in 154th place.

Griffin Wood also scored 260 points, but finished in 158th out of a total of 210 competing.
