Washington boys fall at Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG – The Washington High School boys’ varsity team lost a non-conference game, 65 – 42 at Williamsburg High School on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
“Williamsburg is a really great team. They are long and we really struggled with their size. We got off to a rough start but played better in the second half. They simply outplayed us,” Washington head coach Bryce Smeins said.
Washington was led in scoring by junior Thomas Bump with 11 points.  Junior Gage Redlinger scored eight points. Senior Elijah Wood scored six points. Senior Brett Wright and junior Daryn Sebelius each had four points. Sophomore Derek Anding scored three points. Senior Mason Quigley, senior Walker Breard and junior Isaiah Zuehlke finished the Washington scoring with two points each.
The Demons are now 6 – 13 overall, 1 – 6 in Southeast Iowa Conference games. Washington plays again on Friday, Feb. 21 at Keokuk to close out its conference season.
