Washington, D.C, trip planned for 4-H'ers

Citizenship Washington Focus is a 10-day trip for 4-H youth in 10th-, 11th- and 12th- grades. The trip provides a setting to experience leadership and citizenship in a whole different way at the National 4-H Center. Youth who have participated in previous trips have returned to report that it has been the single most educational highlight of their 4-H career.

Participants can select either trip – June 7-15 or June 14-22. 4-H’ers and adult chaperones will travel by charted bus to Washington, D.C. Some highlights of the trip are Lincoln’s Springfield, Gettysburg Battlefield, Capitol Hill, Smithsonian museums, Mount Vernon and Kennedy Center. Beside tours and workshop there will be time for socializing and meeting new friends.

Contact the extension office to learn about the cost of the trip. The cost will include lodging, transportation, tour site admissions, and most meals. Registration opened Oct. 15, and closes Dec. 15.
