Washington Demons falls in back-and-forth affair against Pella

The Washington Demons and Pella passed the lead back-and-forth Thursday, July 6, but eventually Pella prevailed 18-8.

The game was tied at seven with Pella batting in the bottom of the second when Pella singled off Chase McDole, driving in two runs.

The Demons collected eight hits and Pella had 12 in the high-scoring affair

The boys took an early lead in the first inning. Collin Zear drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded.

Pella took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning.

McDole took the loss for the Demons. He went 1 2/3 innings, giving up eight runs, and six hits.

Kole Hinrichsen started the game for Washington. He tossed 2/3 of an inning, surrendering six runs, and two hits.

Kiowa Keith and Noah Enfield each collected multiple hits for the Demons. Enfield and Keith each managed two hits to lead the team.

The boys fall to 17-12 and will play at Center Point-Urbana Monday, July 10, in doubleheader action. The first game starts at 5 p.m.
