Washington man arrested for driving golf cart on trail

A Washington man faces charges of driving while intoxicated after being reported driving a golf cart on the Kewash Trail Saturday evening.

Steven Michael Cole, 53, of Washington, was arrested Saturday at Kiwi Avenue and 230th Street in Washington on a charge of operating while intoxicated. According to Iowa code, aoperating while intoxicated is when a subject operates a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher. The first offense is considered a serious misdemeanor.

According to the call log, a caller reported a subject was driving a golf cart in the Kewash trail near the Willow Pond entrance. The caller reported the driver seemed intoxicated. Three officers responded and located Cole at Kiwi Avenue and 230th Street in Washington.
