Washington wins big over Mid-Prairie

The Washington football team took their game to Mid-Prairie at Dwight G. Sattler field, winning 55-7 on Friday.

The Golden Hawks played the Demons tough for two quarters, but Washngton led 21-7 going in too the end of the first half.

The Demons wore down the Golden Hawks,in the second half, scoring a couple quick touchdowns.

The Demons’ tough play took its toll with injuries to both quarterback Karson Gingerich and Keaton Duwa.

Duwa remained in the game, but Gingerich was forced to watch from the sideline.

Back-up quarterback Grant Boyse took the snaps for the Hawks.

The game began to get away from the Hawks when the Demons intercepted two of Boyse’s passes and ran them in for touchdows.

Ryan Reighard threw for 100 yards and three touchdowns and ran for one more.

Jack Redlinger had 13 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

For the Hawks, running back Duwa had a good night for Mid-Prairie with 110 yards on 19 carries.

Before his injury in the second half, Gingerich went 5-8 passing for 64 yards and scored one rushing touchdown.

The Demons are now 2-0 on the season and the Golden Hawks are 1-1.

On Friday,Washington plays Mount Pleasant (2-0) at home and Mid-Prairie travels to West Liberty.
