Washington's Dallmeyer, Highland's Stokes receive all-state recognition

The Iowa Girls Coaches Association has released its 2018 All-State selections today.

Washington High School had one player receive recognition as did Highland.

Kellie Dallmeyer of Washington was second team in Class 4A.

Dallmeyer, who was just a freshman, led the Demons in a number of categories this season. The Demons tied for the Southeast Conference title with Keokuk.

She played both third base and catcher. She only made two errors in 149 chances for a .987 fielding percentage. She threw out eight of 10 runners attempting to steal.

Dallmeyer was lethal at the plate, batting .442 with four home runs, 12 doubles, and a triple for a .673 slugging percentage.

She reached base in more than half of her 113 at-bats for a .558 on-base percentage. She drew 26 walks, was hit by a pitch six times and had five sacrifices.

She was also an all-district selection and all-conference.

The Demons had a 17-22 record.

Dallmeyer was one of four athletes selected from the Southeast Conference. Senior Chi Glaha of Mount Pleasant was first team. Senior Michaela Davis of Keokuk was second team. Senior Ashtyn Drish of Fairfield was third team.

Aly Stokes of Highland was an all-state selection at honorable mention in Class 1A.

The junior shortstop had a .900 fielding percentage. She batted .333 with an OBP of .402. Her eight doubles and one home run led to a .469 slugging percentage. She struck out just eight times in 81 at-bats. She was successful in all 15 attempts at a stolen base. She scored 23 runs.

Highland had a record of 14-13.
