Chapter Iowa J of the National T.T.T. Society met at 6 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Wayland Community Center. A light supper was enjoyed by three of the four campers and families and members present. The girls had an opportunity to introduce themselves and their family members and to be introduced to the chapter members.

The regular business meeting was called to order at approximately 7 p.m.

Recording secretary Georgia Fort took roll with 16 members answering. Minutes of the April 7 meeting were approved.

Joni Huisenga read thank-you notes from the National Project Board and the National Endowment Board for gifts from Chapter J at state convention.

Jeanne Davis gave the treasurer’s report. She also read a letter of resignation. Motion carried to regretfully accept her resignation of the office of chapter treasurer.

Courtesy Committee noted those members who have had surgeries or having health issues.

Joni reported on camping preparation progress. She and Susan Mast will ride the bus to camp as chaperones for the session.

Joni also reported work being done on the grant applications.

Willa Wilson reported for Ways and Means a very successful sale of restaurant cards. She also noted donations from three Wayland businesses.

Motion carried for Susan Mast and committee to design thank-you cards to be given to local businesses who donate to the chapter toward expenses for preparing the girls for their summer camping experience.

Susan reported on serving at the NHS ceremony.  Motion carried that Chapter J would not be serving another year.

Convention reports were given by delegates. The 2015 Iowa State T.T.T. Convention will be held in Burlington. Motion carried to send $400 to National Project Fund. Chapters' gifts to the National Project Fund help the national board pay for the costs of providing the summer camp for girls who have completed fourth grade. T.T.T. chapters across the country send deserving girls each summer.

Bills had been turned in for delegate lodging at state convention, (no mileage bills were turned in), and a bill for camper expenses to date. These bills are preapproved and no action needed.

Chapter J will celebrate Founders Day at the regular June 2 meeting with a 6:30 p.m. potluck dinner at the Wayland Community Room in the city hall building.
