Wildcats win two SEISC duals at Van Buren

KEOSAUQUA — Columbus won a pair of Southeast Iowa Super Conference dual meets at Van Buren on Thursday night.

Wapello won six of the eight contested matches between the neighboring schools, but forfeited six matches to Columbus in a 48-29 loss to the Wildcats. Columbus sophomore 120-pounder Mitchell Griffin and senior 182-pounder Javier Diaz pinned their opponents in the dual.

Columbus blasted the host Warriors 65-9. Griffin, freshman 106-pounder Josh Keller, senior 138-pounder Mitchell Roush and sophomore 152-pounder Zack King each pinned their opponents, while sophomore 132-pounder Austin Edwards and junior 145-pounder Zac Howell won major decisions. Junior 195-pounder Mark Ramirez won a 6-2 decision over Van Buren’s Mitch Garrels, and the Wildcats also received five forfeits from the Warriors.
