William "Bill" Moore

William H. "Bill" Moore, 78, found eternal rest on January 21, 2018. He lived in Chandler, Ariz. for the past 30 years.

He was born March 5, 1939, in Washington to Jesse and Lucille Moore who preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, George (Karol) Moore of Davenport, Iowa; sister, Millie (Jerry) Kelley of Waterford, Wis.; nieces, Kimberly Kurey, Katy Kelley; nephews, Andrew and Joel Moore; grand-niece, Lilah; and grand-nephews, Evan and Maxwell.

He farmed until he graduated from Washington High School in 1957. He attended the University of Iowa then served in the National Guard for two years. His adventurous life began with a strong desire to fly. He got his pilot license at an early age then earned his commercial pilot license. From 1970 to 1978 he flew charter planes for Air South out of St. Simons Island GO. In 1979 he became a shrimp boat owner and fished off the coast of St. Simons Island. In 1989 he moved to Chandler, Ariz. and was employed by America West Airlines for 25 years. He also farmed and raised winter wheat, goats and chickens. He always loved farming.

It was his dream to return to Washington to be closer to family and friends but failing health prevailed.

Burial will be private at a later date in Washington
